Rugby news: Geordan Murphy announces his retirement from rugby.
Former Ireland international, Geordan Murphy, today announced his decision to retire at the end of the current campaign. 
Murphy, has made 322 appearances for the Leicester Tigers following his debut in 1997.
In that time he has amassed 691 points for the club and racked up 72 Ireland caps, scoring 18 tries in his time in green, as well as 2 caps with the British and Irish Lions.
Murphy will take up a coaching position with the Tigers next season.
Farewell Geordan, and thank you. Another of the golden generation, hanging up his boots for good :(
